Old-school Energy Bar

Ingredients

  • wheat
  • walnuts
  • sugar
  • lime zest
  • carrots
  • dates
  • cocoa

Directions

  1. I soak wheat 24h before using and then cook at low heat for about 3 hours. Rinse well.
  2. I roast walnuts in the oven and grind finely. I add them to the cooked wheat.
  3. I sweeten the mixture with sugar and give it a good stir.
  4. I blend carrots quickly and add dates and cocoa. I mix it all together in a blender until I get a smooth creme.

This is how an energy bar and a dessert would look a hundred years ago, all in one. And it’s equally nutritious and delicious today.
